Introducing BYB Grant Winner- Jenny Scott, Little House Accountants

Welcome to Little House Accountants. A female-led Accountancy practice aiming to facilitate ambitious business owners to achieve their goals, via a thoughtfully tailored accountancy and bookkeeping service.

With offices in the village of Warkton, only 5 minutes from the centre of Kettering, Little House Accountants welcomes our clients to a calm countryside setting of an open and quirky converted barn with log-burner and cosy meeting room.

I, Jenny Scott, Accountant and founder of Little House Accountants, previously worked at a local accountancy practice for 8 years. Working my way up from a trainee to Senior Accountant, whilst studying for my AAT and ACCA accountancy qualifications.

I, like many other women, found my career was impacted by my choice to start a family. Upon returning after maternity leave, I found not only had my role and the office dynamics had changed but upon becoming a parent I had changed too.

I realised I wanted more flexibility professionally and could benefit from my expertise by working for myself. I set off on a journey of self-employment, dipping my feet in the water by first working as a freelance bookkeeper.

My favourite part of my role as an accountant is working with clients. I want to work with people and build strong working relationships and be invested in their businesses. It brings me joy to feel some responsibility for the success of their business. So, it made complete sense for me to start this business and work with my own clients.

Through Little House, I am passionate in wanting to take my experiences and knowledge to help others facing similar challenges. Whether it be a new mum looking for a career change or a female entrepreneur looking to take control of their professional career.

Not only does Little House Accountants aim to provide an accessible, down to earth, and trustworthy service, but also an appealing working environment for our employees. This will involve investment in a healthy work life ethos, ongoing career, and professional development opportunities, but also flexibility with regards to working around family and personal commitments.

Starting my own accountancy practice was a huge endeavour and I found the BIPC at exactly the right time. The BIPC Build Your Business Programme was really useful, providing guidance on a huge range of areas relating to starting a business. I particularly enjoyed the marketing sessions and the support provided to help me understand my own business and the market I was entering. The workshops are a great way to network and meet like-minded new business owners on their own business journeys.

To be able to provide our services, we are ever reliant on fast and efficient IT equipment. The grant will allow us to invest in essential equipment for the office. In the next year, we are looking to expand our services and hoping to work with more businesses. To support this growth and ensure we maintain customer service expectations, we are looking employ a further member of staff later in the year and the BIPC grant will provide us with the equipment to allow us to do this.

A thoughtful introduction that gives readers a clear sense of the person behind the work. Posts like this help build Furnace Repair Richardson real connection and trust. I recently came across a similar profile-style piece on citylineairconditioning.

The post about accounting services and professional support was clear and informative. It’s interesting how much trust and structure matter in https://www.doublegpainters.com/ financial management. A similar viewpoint was shared in a based review blog which discussed how professional services build long-term stability.

If you live in Ohio and own a dog or operate a kennel, the Ross County Dog License & Kennel License is a legal requirement you cannot ignore. These licenses help identify dogs, support local animal control services, and ensure public safety. A standard dog license is required for each pet, while a kennel license is designed for breeders or individuals housing multiple dogs. From experience, many owners overlook renewal deadlines, which can lead to penalties, so it is always a good idea to apply early and keep records updated.
