Stop 1: DebAce, Wellingborough’s best smelling gift shop

Alan, co-owner of DebAce, outside the shop on Silver Street, Wellingborough

You’ll be greeted by the delicious aroma of over 200 wax melt scents when you step through the door of DebAce on Silver Street. Led by husband-and-wife dream team Alan and Debbie, they began their small business from a garden shed with Debbie hand making resin items. With her love of candles and scents she soon expanded to creating beautiful smelling wax melts too, which really hit the spot!

Fast forward to now and you’ll find the shop on Silver Street which is home to lots of unique and quirky products. Alan and Debbie love what they do and enjoy taking the business on tour. They can often be found at local markets, craft, and gift fairs, so look out for them at an event near you!

The team are always thinking of ideas to expand their products Their latest addition to the shop is a range of dupe perfumes and aftershaves inspired by popular brands, which make the perfect gift or treat for you! With the festive season fast approaching, if you’re looking for something special, take a trip to DebAce and see what you can find.

Stop 2: The Healthy Hair Company, vegan and eco-friendly haircare on Market Street

The Healthy Hair Company on Market Street, Wellingborough

How does a salon that combines great hair with a commitment to protecting the planet sound? Pretty good, right? Wellingborough has the privilege of being home to The Healthy Hair Company, the only vegan-friendly, sustainable salon in the area.

It’s run by best friends Michelle and Katie who share values and have an evident passion for a great hair day! They have created a beautiful business together using their talents, industry experience, and qualifications, and their customers always leave feeling amazing.

Using only vegan and eco-friendly products, the team work hard to keep waste to a minimum at their gorgeous salon by recycling and reusing wherever possible.

The welcoming atmosphere at The Healthy Hair Company makes everyone feel at home from the moment they step inside. The team ooze warmth and positive energy and it keeps clients coming back, with some travelling from afar for their appointment which is a real testament to them.

With big plans, we can't wait to see what’s next for Michelle and Katie, and where their fantastic business takes them. They are an inspiring duo with a stand-out salon that’s one to visit!

Stop 3: Bewiched, Wellingborough’s homegrown coffee spot

A coffee and slice of millionaire shortbread in Bewitched Coffee Market Street, Wellingborough

When it’s time for a break, you’re spoilt for choice in Wellingborough because there are lots of places to grab a coffee and a tasty bite to eat.

Choosing where to go was easy for us as this is the town where Bewiched was founded, a locally run café that’s grown to have 18 locations across the area. Owner Matt’s vision of delight and surprise is reflected in the name, not to mention the play on words with sandwich!

You’ll get delicious food and drink at Bewiched, tempting milkshakes and an irresistible selection of cakes. The friendly staff are always happy to help if you can’t decide.

It was busy when we stopped for a coffee break. Shoppers, friends, families, students, and even a couple of well-behaved dogs were enjoying the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Our cappuccino went down a treat, along with a millionaire’s shortbread which couldn’t be resisted.

Everything tastes sweeter when you support local, and Bewiched is a shining example of the hard work, determination, and passion that goes into building a small business. It’s evident that customers are at the very heart of it, so be sure to stop by for your next coffee fix!
